We would just like to let you know that our topic this term is all about people that help us i.e. doctor, police, teacher, life guard etc. We will be starting this term with our activities and role play area set up as a doctors and reception area. If you have any resources or if any parent has a job in any of these roles or knows of anyone that would like to come and talk to the children, we would be very grateful.

Saltash Scrap Store

We will be going on an exciting trip to our local scrap store on Monday 11th February 9.30-11am, at a cost of £2 per child. The children will have a story read to them and then have the opportunity to take part in a craft activity related to our topic at the moment ‘People that help us’. We would like to thank one of our parent’s Jenny German for organising this for us.

We are very interested in seeing what your child gets up to outside of preschool and would be grateful if you could put this on to Tapestry so they can share this during circle time with their peers. If you cannot access Tapestry, please speak to a member of staff.

Healthy Under Fives

As you are aware, we have been working towards gaining our ‘Healthy Under Fives’ certificate which is a new scheme run by Cornwall Council’s Healthy Cornwall service.

The first area which is now complete was Healthy Eating. Within this topic we were required to sign up for three sugar smart pledges, two of which are completed and one of which we promised to bring to you after Christmas (Quiz). Please find attached the quiz which must be returned to pre-school by Friday 25th January. The winner will receive a prize which will be announced on Monday 28th January.

We have also updated our food policy and would appreciate if you could have a look online and provide us with your feedback.

The second area that we will be working on is the Physical section, we will be running daily ‘Fun Fit’ sessions at the end of the day and would like to invite you in to join us in our morning Mini Movers session at 9am on Tuesday 12th February.

We would like to say a massive thank you for all our lovely cards and gifts we were given at Christmas and hope that you all had a very good Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We would also like to say thank you for your support with our Christmas performance and raffle and to let you know we raised £320.00 which will buy some resources for your children to enhance their learning.

Reception Places

If your child is leaving us this year to attend school could you please make sure you have completed your application, as the closing date is 15/01/19. Any problems please speak to a member of staff.
